St. Francis DeSales in Purcellville, Virginia is just perfect for Catholic weddings. The light is beautiful, there is space enough for many guests and it’s easily accessible from Leesburg, Virginia. Katie and Eric married there in April, 2019. These two met while doing missionary work, so the traditional Catholic mass suited them.

Katie opted for a Maggie Sottero gown with a full cathedral veil (you know how I love veils!) and lovely lace sleeves that suited her perfectly.

Lovely little touches personalized the ceremony. Eric’s mother sang an absolutely lovely rendition of “Ave Maria,” three priests the couple knew from their missionary work performed the service, and two family members lassoed the couple after their vows. Haven’t heard of that wedding tradition? Me either! Wedding rosary lassos are popular among Catholics of Mexican, Filipino and Spanish descent.

After mass, Katie and Eric hosted a reception at the lovely River Creek Club in Leesburg, Virginia.
