Megan and Ville hadn’t planned an actual winter wedding, but Mother Nature has her plans. The temperature during their early November Washington DC wedding didn’t make it above 45 degrees. Despite her mother’s urging, Megan would not wear a wrap, so just know that as stunning as she is in these photos, she was also probably freezing!

The couple’s dog Blue joined the girls for getting-ready time at their apartment. Blue was, I’m fairly certain, entirely confused about why his home was invade by 15 women. But he didn’t mind all the treats and pets, was a very good boy who posed beautifully for pictures (he’s used to it, since Blue has his own Instagram).

Since the sun sets so early in the late fall, Megan and Ville opted to do a first look and then couples portraits before the ceremony. Their First Look was private (just their favorite photographers) in an alley outside Toolbox DC, where both the ceremony and reception took place. They read their vows together, which made for a special little moment alone before the craziness of their wedding day.

Family and the bridal party were waiting at the end of the alley for Megan and Ville. This made for some super fun, legitimately candid photos when the group saw them as a couple for the first time.

Toolbox is only a few blocks from DuPint Circle, which is a stunning spot for bridal portraits. Their 5:30 ceremony might as well have been done by candlelight, the atmosphere was so glowy and romantic.

Megan’s matron of honor and Ville’s best man are actually married to each other (it’s an adorable lovely story from when they were all college roommates) so speeches were heartfelt and collaborative.

To top off an already-lively reception, Captain Cookie showed up offering late-night treats.
