Morgan and Bryce’s late spring Salamander Resort wedding was elegant simplicity. Their simple, tasteful details and soft color palette let the gorgeous venue shine.
Here in the Virginia, Maryland, Washington DC area we are spoiled for choice when it comes to beautiful places. Vineyards, parks, historic homes … there are so many gorgeous places to be married. What’s less common is for a venue to have amazing space for every single portion of the day. The beautiful thing about weddings at Salamander Resort is that you have options: natural settings, gardens, terraces and a ballroom.
For getting ready, the fairly spacious rooms offer plenty of light and little ivy-colored porches with French doors. Yes, please!
Salamander Resort is a large property, so couples have options when it comes to each portion of their day. I fully supported Morgan and Bryce’s choice to do their First Look in venue’s Culinary Garden. I’d previously photographed a micro-wedding in this space and while it wouldn’t accommodate a large ceremony, it offers the perfect blend of privacy and natural beauty for a First Look.
After the First Look, it’s time for wedding party photos. It’s always so fun to see how different groups of friends interact and in this case, their friends brought a fun-loving energy that put real smiles on Morgan’s and Bryce’s faces.

Outdoor weddings can be so beautiful, and I love that Morgan and Bryce just let the setting be a magnificent backdrop for their day. (Also, Mother Nature, thank you for not raining!).
