Nicole planned a classic late fall wedding around two venues she loved: the ceremony in her home parish followed by a cozy Springfield Manor wedding reception.

St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Frederick, Maryland is a beautiful church. Nicole loved her reception venue for its historic architecture and backdrop of the Catoctin Mountains.

When preparing for a wedding, I always ask couples what they love about their venue(s). The more I know about a couple’s vision and preferences, the better I can highlight those aspects throughout their day. Springfield Manor offers some really beautiful getting-ready spaces and plenty of oversized mirrors for those reflections that I love. We also planned the couple’s First Look outside in front of those gorgeous mountains.

The great thing about photographing a full Catholic wedding mass? The hour-long ceremony gives me plenty of time for creativity. For Nicole, I love the photo of her and Sean at the altar photographed through a cross carved on the church door. Including such details from the day really enriches the final wedding gallery.
