Summer and Tanner are getting married at La Banque de Fleuve in historic Havre de Grace, Maryland in October, 2021 and scheduled their autumn Annapolis engagement session for almost exactly a year before the wedding.
Annapolis is one of my favorite places on the East Coast so I am always happy to return for an afternoon. Plus, Summer is one of those brides who’s having so much fun planning her wedding that it’s just fun to be around her during a big step like the engagement session.
We started outside the Maryland Statehouse, which in October offers plenty of trees changing leaves. Plus, it’s back entrance is absolutely gorgeous. I am not the only one who thinks so; we had to wait in line behind some other photographers. But it’s totally worth the wait!
Annapolis has some super cute and photogenic side streets that are never super busy, even when the waterfront is crowded. We made good use of those more secret spots because downtown was definitely buzzing on that particular warm October afternoon. When scheduling a session in such a popular locate, it’s definitely important to pack your patience!
But crowds or no crowds, an Annapolis engagement session is not complete without some waterfront pictures. After a wardrobe change, we went down to the docks, where plenty of boats pulling in to the harbor created lovely nautical backgrounds. These two followed my style guide to the letter so they coordinately really well and Summer’s dress fluttered around in the wind and photographed beautifully.
Annapolis is one of those towns that is beautiful in every season, but this autumn Annapolis engagement session is definitely one of my favorites.
