Inn at the Old Silk Mill wedding | Allie & Esteban

Allie and Esteban hosted the most beautiful fall wedding at the Inn at the Old Silk Mill in Fredericksburg. As animal lovers who foster pups who need homes, they even included the most adorable four-legged good girl named Molly who sat attentively throughout the ceremony. I am a sucker for dogs at weddings!

Unique touches

I always say it’s the details unique to the couple that really make a wedding day special. In this case, we had Molly the good girl of course, but also family arranged a surprise Mariachi band to serenade the couple after their vows. Guests so enjoyed a few minutes of dancing before heading to cocktail hour!

Historic venues lend weddings a certain charm and we have no shortage of them in Virginia. This venue really was a silk mill, where women spun imported Italian silk. Now it’s a venue for those couples who love an industrial, loft-like look. I love the white draping and twinkle lights that add a lovely dimension to reception photos. The huge windows also make the space beautiful for portraits during the day when we’re getting that beautiful natural light.

Speaking of natural light, if you want that glowy look, this venue offers plenty of options for outdoor photos: white walls (which I love for portraits, they really let the subject shine!), ivy, plenty of pretty little private nooks.
