I met Becca and Zach through a mutual friend and am so glad I was able to be part of the mid-September Inn at Willow Grove wedding! September weddings are the best: not too hot, not too cold, with leaves still on trees. We met months earlier for an engagement session, so these two were well-prepared for their wedding photos. (I meet most of my clients ahead of time for engagement sessions. Why you should “Say Yes” to an engagement session).
But back to the wedding. I’m a sucker for an oversized balcony and this venue in Orange, Virginia has not one but two! We chose one of these as the location for the couple’s First Look, plus some individual portraits of them both. Adorable little cottages are located throughout the property, so there was plenty of room for getting-ready and photo taking prior to the festivities.
Becca and Zach held their ceremony, officiated by a friend, outdoors in the venue’s Boxwood Garden. The cocktail hour, seated dinner and dancing (soo … the entire reception) was held at an area of the venue known as The Barn and Ruins. While it’s all lovely, the big draw for photos is part of the property overlooking countryside and mountains. That was the spot for golden hour couple portraits. I mean, check out that pink light making Becca’s veil just GLOW!
