The class of 2020 missed out on their graduation celebrations this year, but we were still able to mark Leanna’s graduation from Georgetown Medical School and capture some lasting memories of her moment. I love doing a graduation photo session; people are so, so sweet to the grads. Onlookers and passers-by clap, say congrats, and sometimes give my clients a big thumbs up at just the right moment to capture a proud smile.
Leanna’s session was no different, although since we did a socially distanced session just as Washington, D.C. was re-opening, there were far fewer people around to congratulate her. And far fewer great spots, since the Lincoln Memorial was roped off. Nevertheless, we persisted. Since she’s a new doctor, the signs urging people to wear masks and stay six feet apart actually became great props for this photo session. (Put that in the category “making the best of it.”
We started Leanna’s graduation session at the Lincoln Memorial, and then went to Georgetown University’s campus to get some images at the place where she spot so much time. Because of the two locations and just a few relevant props, I love the variety in her final gallery:
