Sarah and Talal hosted multiple wedding celebrations to ensure they included family traditions from both sides in their three-part DMV wedding in May. They wed in an intimate ceremony at a family home in Maryland, celebrated with a western wedding at the Morrison House in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia and finally hosted a lovely picnic in Columbia, Maryland.

First, their close family gathered at Talal’s family home in Maryland for the Islamic ceremony. Women from both families presented traditional gifts and helped Sarah prepare before the short ceremony. We had an opportunity to take a few individual and couple portraits in the traditional clothing Sarah and Talal wore for this ceremony.

Wedding at the Morrison House

The next day brought a traditional Western wedding at the Morrison House in Old Town Alexandria. An outdoor ceremony followed by an indoor seated dinner reception showed off all the best bits of the hotel. From the photographer’s perspective, the Morrison House’s indoor spaces offered some of the most beautiful opportunities for indoor portraits; check out Sarah and Talal’s First Look below! We also had plenty of time to photograph bridal details, including flowers and jewelery. The hotel’s curving entrance also makes an absolutely gorgeous background for any ceremony. Talal’s sister officiated their ceremony, making their ceremony lovely and personal.

Their wedding weekend culminated in an outdoor catered picnic at The Carriage House in Columbia. Check out those beautiful centerpieces combining flowers and fruit; I love the contrasting colors and textures!
