Melanie and Donovan are great at being photographed. By now, I have captured his proposal, their engagement session, their Catholic wedding ceremony and (finally!) their often-rescheduled wedding reception at Harbour View (thanks, COVID).

Throughout all of the uncertainty and changes, Melanie and Donovan have maintained positive outlooks and graciousness. Luck has not been on their side. Not only were they the first couple I knew who had to reschedule/postpone/cancel because of the pandemic, it also rained on the proposal, the wedding ceremony and the reception celebration. Rain on a wedding day means luck for the couple, so obviously they have triple the luck coming their way. The rain did let up just long enough for us to get some photos taken on Harbour View’s pier, so Mother Nature wasn’t completely cruel.

Celebrating almost a year to the date after their May 8, 2020 ceremony, Melanie and Donovan pulled out all the stops for their celebration. Having been cooped up for more than a year, their guests were ready for a partyyyy. Drinks! Cake! Little brothers dancing together! Grandparents dancing! A Conga line! The Chicken Dance! The D.J. reminding everyone how to do the Cupid Shuffle! Also: an amazing bridal jumpsuit and epic glow stick exit. And, of course, plenty of Corona (the beer!).
